Probably nothing serious or worthwhile can be accomplished without one's willingness to be alone for sustained periods of time which is not to say that one must live alone obsessively.
It is understanding that gives us an ability to have peace. When we understand the other fellow's viewpoint and he understands ours then we can sit down and work out our differences.
