We lived in a one-bedroom apartment in Northwest D.C. I was essentially raised by a Panamanian man and a Jamaican woman. That's why I have such a fascination with Jamaican food.
We were raised in an Italian-American household although we didn't speak Italian in the house. We were very proud of being Italian and had Italian music ate Italian food.
