I get bored. We seem to have been having a little bit more time off this winter than last winter. I'm always itching to get back in the car. It's going to get harder so I've got to make sure that I'm doing everything I possibly can do to make sure I can start next season how I ended this season.

I promise you a police car on every sidewalk.

But now I feel off the grid. I feel that I am not part of the culture. And because I don't have a car I don't really go anywhere to buy things. In fact I have been in a slow process of selling and giving away everything I own.

Since September 11 security has been increased everywhere and we have new IDs to get on to the Fox lot. I drove to the security gate but realized I'd left my ID in my other car. I just broke into that voice - 'Hey man I'm Bart Simpson. Who else sounds like this?' The guard waved me through.

Every time I copy something I can draw it for the rest of my life. But research is so painful - I mean just opening up a magazine looking for a picture of a car or looking out the window looking for a car is just hard!

A car to pick me up every day a chair with my name on it everybody being very polite... what can you do except sit back and watch it all try to take it all in?

Every job has its downside. For example being in a band the travel part of it - getting picked up from your house in a car going to the airport getting on a plane going from the airplane to a van then going from the van to a hotel.

Everything officers go through in any chase anywhere in the country but amped up 100 times! I'm right in the thick of things in a car going like 80 miles an hour and doing 360s in the middle of the road. It was a wild ride.

I'm ashamed to say this but I watched every episode of 'Starsky and Hutch' as a kid. I loved that show but now I think it's stupid - they'd have a car chase for no reason then Paul Michael Glaser would shoot the car and it would blow up.

Accidents happen whether they're car accidents friendly fire drug overdoses. Accidents happen and they're tragic. It's like a bomb that goes off and pieces of shrapnel rip into the flesh of the family. It's the families that need the compassion because everywhere they walk every day someone reminds them of their loss.

When I was 15 my parents left town for a month. They hid the keys to the car but I found them. That month I drove my stepdad's Thunderbird Super Coupe into Manhattan every day and I would crank Cypress Hill as I flew around the city racing the taxis.

You don't have to worry about whether the car is set up right or not you know it is and it's down to you. Ultimately that's what every driver wants.

It's not just the kid who's spent every penny from his job to upgrade his car to tell the world he cares about sports cars it's also the person driving around in a fuel-conscious hybrid electric car because it's more a message to the world than an effective means of saving fuel to be quite honest.

I listen to KCRW in the car and Pandora radio which I stream through the stereo from my iPhone. I've been listening to everything from Caribou to Conway Twitty. If I'm going on a longer car ride I'll download some podcasts.

Well honey I had the million dollar houses I had the car I had the horse I had the barn I had everything. Was I set free? I didn't even know what that meant.

And I think that if I were a for real celebrity that was recognizable everywhere I'd just crawl under a rock and you know have someone run over the rock with a car or something.

Every little kid has always wanted to be a race car driver. This gets some of that out.

I feel comfortable around every driver out there and each driver is in charge of their own car but you feel very secure racing the competition out there.
