I'm not a knee-jerk conservative. I passionately believe in free markets and less government but not to the point of being a libertarian.
And I just think that we're at a point in our economic life here in our state - and - and candidly across the country where increased taxes is just the wrong way to go. The people of our state are not convinced that state government county government local government has done all they can with the money we already give them rather than the money that we have before.
The fact is that America has been at her most prosperous when government and the private sector have been not at war but in a wary if often underplayed alliance. History is unmistakable on this point.
I want the government to provide the military so we don't get invaded by somebody and destroyed. I want the government to provide the roads so I can get from point A to B. In terms of taking care of my day to day needs I want to do that myself. I want my community to do that.
Our government declared that it is conducting some kind of great reforms. In reality no real reforms were begun and no one at any point has declared a coherent programme.
Making recess appointments when the Senate isn't in recess is neither rational nor moderate. It's a raw misuse of executive power by a president whose love of government is his most vulnerable spot with the electorate.
Wherever magistrates were appointed from among those who complied with the injunctions of the laws Socrates considered the government to be an aristocracy.
Government is taking 40 percent of the GDP. And that's at the state local and federal level. President Obama has taken government spending at the federal level from 20 percent to 25 percent. Look at some point you cease being a free economy and you become a government economy. And we've got to stop that.
The Internet didn't get invented on its own. Government research created the Internet so that all the companies could make money off the Internet. The point is is that when we succeed we succeed because of our individual initiative but also because we do things together.
Democracy is a form of government that substitutes election by the incompetent many for appointment by the corrupt few.
All I can tell you really is if you get to the point where someone is telling you that you are not great or not good enough just follow your heart and don't let anybody crush your dream.
I had three points I wanted to make: That not everybody in Hollywood is on the left that Obama has broken a lot of the promises he made when he took office and that the people should feel free to get rid of any politician who's not doing a good job. But I didn't make up my mind exactly what I was going to say until I said it.
I met Woz when I was 13 at a friend's garage. He was about 18. He was like the first person I met who knew more electronics than I did at that point. We became good friends because we shared an interest in computer and we had a sense of humor. We pulled all kinds of pranks together.
If I am walking with two other men each of them will serve as my teacher. I will pick out the good points of the one and imitate them and the bad points of the other and correct them in myself.
From a religious point of view if God had thought homosexuality is a sin he would not have created gay people.
I've always believed in God. I also think that's the sort of thing that either comes as part of the equipment the capacity to believe or at some point in your life when you're in a position where you actually need help from a power greater than yourself you simply make an agreement.
But at any rate the point is that God is what nobody admits to being and everybody really is.
God lets you be successful because he trusts you that you will do the right thing with it. Now does he get disappointed often? All the time because people get there and they forget how they got it.
We have come to a turning point in the road. If we turn to the right mayhap our children and our children's children will go that way but if we turn to the left generations yet unborn will curse our names for having been unfaithful to God and to His Word.
God appoints our graces to be nurses to other men's weaknesses.
My main point here is that if you are the child of God and God is a part of you the in your imagination God suppose to look like you. And when you accept a picture of the deity assigned to you by another people you become the spiritual prisoners of that other people.
Disappointment is inevitable. But to become discouraged there's a choice I make. God would never discourage me. He would always point me to himself to trust him. Therefore my discouragement is from Satan. As you go through the emotions that we have hostility is not from God bitterness unforgiveness all of these are attacks from Satan.
God is the tangential point between zero and infinity.
I always felt like my future was at stake every time I stepped on stage and that was kind of hair-raising. At some point I just went don't be frightened you can't do anything wrong it's your show.
Through all of history mankind has ingested psychedelic substances. Those substances exist to put you in touch with spirits beyond yourself with the creator with the creative impulse of the planet.
