Cartooning is a wonderful career and I'd like more women to get to have it. I can't think of any reason why we won't see more syndicated female cartoonists in the future.

The comedians I liked were Bill Cosby and Steven Wright like just always as a comedic actor. I always liked Gary Larson who's really funny for a cartoonist obviously.

The humor is essentially dark for a cartoon and sophisticated. But at the same time being a cartoon gives the writers more freedom than in a normal sitcom. It always pushes the line that despite human failings the Simpsons are really decent people.

I think my printing to this day looks like the printing right out of a comic book. Actually I always wanted to be in a comic book. I watched cartoons when I was a kid too and both comics and cartoons lit fire in my imagination. This realm holds a lot of interest for me a lot of passion for me. So to be comic-ized yeah that's cool.

I always hated high-school shows and high-school movies because they were always about the cool kids. It was always about dating and sex and all the popular kids and the good-looking kids. And the nerds were super-nerdy cartoons with tape on their glasses. I never saw 'my people' portrayed accurately.

Okay let's talk about cartoon labels for half a second - some people think anything with a dog or a car or a colorful alien is garbage which is not true. Look at Big Moose Red. It's like a $6 wine with a cheesy label and it's actually a solid wine.

That's the conundrum of cartoon stripping as opposed to political cartoons. When your anger is the driving force of your drawing hand failure follows. The anger is OK but it has to serve the interests of the heart frankly.

Well there are better cartoonists now than there ever have been. I firmly believe that. There's some amazing work being done.
