Love has its own time its own season and its own reasons from coming and going. You cannot bribe it or coerce it or reason it into staying. You can only embrace it when it arrives and give it away when it comes to you.

It sounds like a cliche but I also learnt that you're not going to fall for the right person until you really love yourself and feel good about how you are.

I wanted to write about the moment when your addictions no longer hide the truth from you. When your whole life breaks down. That's the moment when you have to somehow choose what your life is going to be about.

I remember a specific moment watching my grandmother hang the clothes on the line and her saying to me 'you are going to have to learn to do this ' and me being in that space of awareness and knowing that my life would not be the same as my grandmother's life.

And Barack and I were raised with so many of the same values like you work hard for what you want in life. That your word is your bond that you do what you say you're going to do. That you treat people with dignity and respect even if you don't know them and even if you don't agree with them.

When you are tough on yourself life is going to be infinitely easier on you.

The chief reason for going to school is to get the impression fixed for life that there is a book side for everything.
