When the state or federal government control the education of all of our children they have the dangerous and illegitimate monopoly to control and influence the thought process of our citizens.

Universal suffrage should rest upon universal education. To this end liberal and permanent provision should be made for the support of free schools by the State governments and if need be supplemented by legitimate aid from national authority.

Today education is perhaps the most important function of state and local governments.

Government will not fail to employ education to strengthen its hands and perpetuate its institutions.

No one should negotiate their dreams. Dreams must be free to fly high. No government no legislature has a right to limit your dreams. You should never agree to surrender your dreams.
