Yeah I think it motivates you as people start to count you out. It doesn't make you play any harder because every time you go out on the field you give 110 percent but it does give you more of an edge mentally knowing that you were in the same situation because in sports you always find yourself behind.

And I realized that there was no sports reporter so I started covering sporting events.

I started my cooking 'career' aged 15 almost 20 years ago. At the time it was quite a shock suddenly working 75 to 80 hours a week without time to play football or other sports.

We live in a world where sports have the potential to bridge the gap between racism sexism and discrimination. If we try to engineer outcomes if we overturn tradition to make everyone the same we ruin society. If we upset tradition to allow for an equal shot at the starting gate everyone wins except for the charlatans and would be dictators.

I try to greet my friends with a drink in my hand a warm smile on my face and great music in the background because that's what gets a dinner party off to a fun start.

They've also asked me now to start on another series that we're gonna do after this Frontier Earth. But it's not science fiction it's more in the Mystery and Crime division and that's another area I'm very interested in.

We do a hard fantasy as well as hard science fiction and I think I probably single-handedly recreated military science fiction. It was dead before I started working in it.

When I started in the business there was a thing called adult fantasy but nobody quite knew what it was and most publishers didn't have an adult fantasy list. They had science fiction lists which they stuck a little bit of fantasy into.

I think it's science and physics are just starting to learn from all these experiments. You know there was a time just before I started to study physical science when astronomers thought that systems such as we have here in the solar system required a rare triple collision of stars.
