My philosophy is to do the best you can for somebody. Help. It's not just what do you for yourself. It's how you treat people decently. The golden rule. There isn't big anything better than the golden rule. It's in every major religion in one language or another.

I am quite certain in my heart of hearts that modern music and modern art is not a conspiracy but is a form of truth and integrity for those who practise it honestly decently and with all their being.

My job in this life is to give people spiritual ecstasy through music. In my concerts people cry laugh dance. If they climaxed spiritually I did my job. I did it decently and honestly.

The courage we desire and prize is not the courage to die decently but to live manfully.
