An artist is an artist only because of his exquisite sense of beauty a sense which shows him intoxicating pleasures but which at the same time implies and contains an equally exquisite sense of all deformities and all disproportion.
Old age has deformities enough of its own. It should never add to them the deformity of vice.
Age is not measured by years. Nature does not equally distribute energy. Some people are born old and tired while others are going strong at seventy.
