The delta blues is a low-down dirty shame blues. It's a sad big wide sound something to make you think about people who are dead or the women who left you.
Since I was a kid I've had an absolute obsession with particular kinds of American music. Mississippi Delta blues of the Thirties Chicago blues of the Fifties West Coast music of the mid-Sixties - but I'd never really touched on dark Americana.
Everyone dreams but not everybody remembers their dreams because some people go into delta they go too low.
Is there some risk every day we walk out our front door? Every time we get in our car? Yeah. Are we materially less safe now than we were 10 years ago? Whatever delta there is it's very small.
Some people will go to the opening of an envelope. They live their lives in the public eye and get off on it they need it. They need that kind of adoration. If their name isn't in the tabloids once a week they feel like a failure.
