I was born in Norway and when I was little I went to live in Detroit Michigan. My father was a professor of philosophy at Wayne University and my mother was also a teacher.

I didn't know I was going to be an economist but I knew I was going to do something that was involved in answering questions like that one because I thought that was a fascinating question.
