If I have been of service if I have glimpsed more of the nature and essence of ultimate good if I am inspired to reach wider horizons of thought and action if I am at peace with myself it has been a successful day.

The problems of the world cannot possibly be solved by skeptics or cynics whose horizons are limited by the obvious realities. We need men who can dream of things that never were.

But if we learn to think of it as anticipation as learning as growing if we think of the time we spend waiting for the big things of life as an opportunity instead of a passing of time what wonderful horizons open out!

An office supply company called Staples - where I'm pleased to see the Obama campaign has been shopping The Sports Authority which became a favorite of my sons. We started an early childhood learning center called Bright Horizons that First Lady Michelle Obama rightly praised.

I tried to stir the imagination and enthusiasms of students to take risks to do what they were most afraid of doing to widen their horizons of action.
