Because of its tremendous solemnity death is the light in which great passions both good and bad become transparent no longer limited by outward appearences.
There is no absurdity so palpable but that it may be firmly planted in the human head if you only begin to inculcate it before the age of five by constantly repeating it with an air of great solemnity.
It's also reflective of a young person's religion or faith in that it's highly charged with sacramental imagery and with country imagery because I was in the seminary for so many years in the country.
