You're asking the wrong girl about fame. I'm hardly famous. I wouldn't want to trade places with anyone else.
I'm famous for being nicer to my fans than anyone on the face of the earth because I figure a) They pay my salary and b) It's probably like a big moment in your life to meet somebody so I would say 'Just come on up.'
I actually don't know anyone who wants to be famous for fame's sake at least not anyone I respect. But you need to have a certain amount of power in order to be able to do what you want.
I certainly don't want a child of mine to be famous or anyone I was very close to who isn't yet... It's the worst thing to be trapped in your house not be able to leave.
I definitely wanted to be an actor. I didn't want to be on TV I didn't want to be famous I didn't want to be anyone in particular I just wanted to do it. I see young people now who look at magazines or American Idol and their goal is to have that lifestyle - to have good handbags or go out with cute guys from shows or whatever. But I definitely wanted to be an actor.
None of my characters are rich or famous and the situations they find themselves in could happen to anyone.
I had no desire to be famous I just wanted to make the greatest music ever made. I didn't want anyone to know who I was.
I can't advise any of the young ones because I don't know what their background was but I would suggest that anyone who wants to be famous more than anything - there's a real problem.
In the sixties everyone you knew became famous. My flatmate was Terence Stamp. My barber was Vidal Sassoon. David Hockney did the menu in a restaurant I went to. I didn't know anyone unknown who didn't become famous.
I don't believe in being mean to anyone. I'm a really peaceful person. That's something I get from my family.
Anyone that has a job that takes them away from home I think can understand the difficulties in maintaining consistency not only with your family and those you love but with your friends.
My goals have changed throughout my life. At one time it was winning awards selling out concert dates selling more albums than anyone else. Now my goals are to see my grandchildren grown live a long and healthy life with my family and friends and travel the world.
The Universal Declaration of Human Rights describes the family as the natural and fundamental unit of society. It follows that any choice and decision with regard to the size of the family must irrevocably rest with the family itself and cannot be made by anyone else.
I understand what it's like to come with your family and to uproot yourself and come to another culture. You need a lot of support. People say 'She's got her daughter she's got her husband.' Yeah but she hasn't got anyone else.
My family isn't really all that different from anyone else's. Well maybe they're a bit more entertaining.
And when I was young my family was perfectly nice. I write a lot about it as you noticed. But it was rather limited. I think I don't think anyone in my family would really feel I'd done them an injustice by saying that. We didn't see many people. There were many books. It was as if I wanted to get away from home.
I don't think anyone has a normal family.
If God can work through me he can work through anyone.
You need to develop somehow a huge amount of faith and confidence in yourself because there's a lot of rejection throughout an actor's life and you have to believe in yourself more than anyone else.
I'm a lapsed Quaker. I don't go to meetings any more. But I'm very drawn to Catholicism - all that glitter. I'd love to be a Catholic. I think it would be fantastic - faith forgiveness absolution extreme unction - all these wonderful words. I don't think anyone who was ever born a Catholic hasn't died a Catholic no matter how lapsed they are.
Anyone who really studies Catholicism deeply is aware of the mystical nature of our faith. Even references to Christ's mystical body has connections to that principle.
Your faith in yourself is all you will ever have. Don't let anyone take it away from you ever.
I have written too much history to have faith in it and if anyone thinks I'm wrong I am inclined to agree with him.
Trust is not the same as faith. A friend is someone you trust. Putting faith in anyone is a mistake.
Vast is the field of Science. The more a man knows the more he will find he has to know.
