Bands are about these little relationships that make everything tick and when you create new music you're testing those relationships.

So it was out of necessity that Blackheart was born. I think it's great that now 25 years later we're not only putting out our own music but are able to put out music by other bands. That's really exciting for us.

After all in today's music scene every band seems to steal from other bands.

Ninety percent of all music is always crap and when too many people decide they're going to have guitar bands then ninety percent of them are going to be crap. It's just a given law.

I love a lot of the New York bands but Patti Smith stands out. I just read 'Just Kids' and it's an inspirational well-written account of an emerging New York artist in the late seventies.

Bands from Akron have a sense of humor and don't tend to take themselves too seriously.

Irish women are always carrying water on their heads and always carrying their husbands home from pubs. Such things are the greatest posture-builders in the world.

I should like to know what is the proper function of women if it is not to make reasons for husbands to stay at home and still stronger reasons for bachelors to go out.

The record business is dangerous to the health of bands and individuals which is something I'm just now learning. But it's not dangerous in any of the ways people think it's not that they try to make you compromise your art. That's not the problem.
