It's extremely hard for athletes to accept what's happened to them sometimes. It's hard to be beaten by a small margin and I've spoken with athletes who for years afterward have been tormented by the knowledge that had they done something ever so slightly different they could have been one-ten-thousandth of a second quicker.

Nowadays people's visual imagination is so much more sophisticated so much more developed particularly in young people that now you can make an image which just slightly suggests something they can make of it what they will.

Reading a hard copy book and reading a book on an iPad are slightly different experiences. What they both have in common though is that you must engage your imagination in the process.

Sharing food with another human being is an intimate act that should not be indulged in lightly.

Everybody has basically the same family it's just reconfigured slightly differently from one to the next.

Even in a gleefully negative comic there is optimism although it's slightly hidden: It comes out through a comic character's sheer tenacity.
