To counter the avoidance of intellectual challenge and responsibility we must reduce the domination of certainty in education.

Since my education I've done quite untraditional things. There are very few Etonians who went to Rada. And far fewer Etonians - certainly when I was there - went to Cambridge. I don't know whether it's the same now. Most people I knew went to Oxford because it seemed more of an easy bridge.

Now that virtually every career is an option for ambitious girls it can no longer be considered regressive or reactionary to reintroduce discussion of marriage and motherhood to primary education. We certainly do not want to return to the simplistic duality of home economics classes for girls and wood shop for boys.

I am entirely certain that twenty years from now we will look back at education as it is practiced in most schools today and wonder that we could have tolerated anything so primitive.

Whenever a youth is ascertained to possess talents meriting an education which his parents cannot afford he should be carried forward at the public expense.

America is not just a democracy it represents a certain culture of competitive mobility and personality aspirations politics is not merely a clash of interests but a clash of dreams.

For the sake of argument and illustration I will presume that certain articles of ordinary diet however beneficial in youth are prejudicial in advanced life like beans to a horse whose common ordinary food is hay and corn.

I certainly feel that the time is not far distant when a knowledge of the principles of diet will be an essential part of one's education. Then mankind will eat to live be able to do better mental and physical work and disease will be less frequent.

My parents have been incredibly supportive from perhaps the first real independent decision I made to become a vegetarian at 11 which was certainly not consistent with their diet at the time.

Each of us should take personal responsibility for our diet and our children's diet and the government's role should be to make certain it provides the best information possible to help people stay healthy.

Just as predatory animals follow a similar general design and behave in similar ways so organizations especially those in competition with one another must follow certain design principles if they are to succeed and prevail.

In regards to being a fashion aficionado there's a certain amount of taking yourself seriously in the professional world. The self-effacing person can't completely go down the serious road. But I design and love when things are beautiful.

People tell you the world looks a certain way. Parents tell you how to think. Schools tell you how to think. TV. Religion. And then at a certain point if you're lucky you realize you can make up your own mind. Nobody sets the rules but you. You can design your own life.

A Nicklaus Design golf course is done by the guys in my company that I work with that have been trained in my vision and they do what they think I might do.
