There are so many funny women in the world and there has been for so many years so I'll be happy when people can just move on from that and things can just be 'comedies' and not 'female' or 'male ' and everyone gets an equal opportunity.

For years it's driven me crazy that women don't have better roles especially in comedies. I know so many funny women but I always felt... misogynist streak is too strong a term - but a dismissiveness.

That's what I hate about a lot of comedies when you're hitting a line or making it funny.

I'm fascinated by failure and I'm fascinated by finality. Shakespeare's historical plays are more universal than his comedies because they relate to the finality of life. Without finality life would not be beautiful.

I did 10 years of comedies and 10 years of Westerns. I really like to stay away from car chases. I prefer the more intimate film. You have a much more direct association with the emotions.

My dream career would be to be in things that have real heart and are telling real stories but while doing that you're getting really big laughs. I don't necessarily love the straight crazy comedies. 'Caddyshack' is amazing but there's not a lot of new 'Caddyshack's.
