There are tens of thousands of interactions every single day across Afghanistan between the Afghan troops and International Security Assistance Force. On most of those every single day we continue to deepen and broaden the relationship we seek.

And across Afghanistan every single day Afghan soldiers Afghan police and ISAF troops are serving shoulder-to-shoulder in some very difficult situations. And our engagement with them our shoulder-to-shoulder relationship with them our conduct of operations with them every single day defines the real relationship.

But with Christ we have access in a one-to-one relationship for as in the Old Testament it was more one of worship and awe a vertical relationship. The New Testament on the other hand we look across at a Jesus who looks familiar horizontal. The combination is what makes the Cross.

Over the last half century the television interview has given us some of TV's most heart-stopping and memorable moments. On the surface it is a simple format - two people sitting across from one another having a conversation. But underneath it is often a power struggle - a battle for the psychological advantage.

Technology gives us power but it does not and cannot tell us how to use that power. Thanks to technology we can instantly communicate across the world but it still doesn't help us know what to say.

I'm out there arguing the Labor case. I will do it anywhere and everywhere that I can. I do it within various communities across Australia where I am able to make a positive contribution. And let me tell you my voice won't be silenced in the public debate because the issue at stake for Australia are so stark.

I want to come across as a positive person.

Across the country military families are facing dire financial circumstances due to longer than expected tours of duties. They are being penalized for their patriotism - no one should have to choose between doing right by their country and doing right by their families.

A civilized nation can have no enemies and one cannot draw a line across a map a line that doesn't even exist in nature and say that the ugly enemy lives on the one side and good friends live on the other.

Occasionally I have come across a last patch of snow on top of a mountain in late May or June. There's something very powerful about finding snow in summer.

Rest is not idleness and to lie sometimes on the grass under trees on a summer's day listening to the murmur of the water or watching the clouds float across the sky is by no means a waste of time.

I'm writing constantly about all my crazy experiences across the world so I have a lot of music I've already written.

American movies are often very good at mining those great underlying myths that make films robustly travel across class age gender culture.
