If we want to truly regain the public's trust we can provide greater accountability and transparency with a simple step. Let's start by communicating to our constituents about the votes we take.
And basically the sense of the 'Pledge to America' is this: Republicans understand when we were in charge we got fired in '06. We spent too much money. We defied the trust that the people had put in us. And we know that there is a better way.
Not one Republican president has balanced the budget in 34 years. You can not trust Republicans with your money.
We've not had one Republican president in 34 years balance the budget. You can't trust right-wing Republicans with your money. You ought to hire somebody who has balanced a budget. I'm much more conservative with money than George Bush is.
I have often said one of the reasons more blacks don't support Republicans is because they don't trust the GOP establishment.
Will some reporter or some Republican on the Sunday shows please ask why tax cuts raid the non-existent Social Security Trust Fund but all the Democrats' new spending doesn't? Will someone please ask that?
The 'public' scares me but people I trust.
When a man assumes a public trust he should consider himself a public property.
Whenever I travel anywhere I'm constantly asked if I'm Swedish. It's the burden of most Norwegians. The Swedes have just got a better publicity agent I think.
Along with that ongoing process Sinn Fein took a decision to establish a peace commission which had the responsibility to travel around the country to receive submissions from the general public also our opponents.
Greater personal choice individually tailored services stronger local accountability greater efficiency - these are all central to the new direction of travel we have set for our public services.
Air travel is the safest form of travel aside from walking even then the chances of being hit by a public bus at 30 000 feet are remarkably slim. I also have no problem with confined spaces. Or heights. What I am afraid of is speed.
People have to make journeys what we want is people to have alternatives in public transport so that they can make a choice about the sort of way in which they're going to travel.
My favorite time in the cycles of public life is the time when the Pope is dead and they haven't elected a new one. There's no one in the world who is infallible for those weeks. And you know I don't miss it.
I like to hide behind the characters I play. Despite the public perception I am a very private person who has a hard time with the fame thing.
The next time some academics tell you how important diversity is ask how many Republicans there are in their sociology department.
I am most thankful to Almighty Providence for mercies received and determined still to press the case into public notice as a token of gratitude.
We have to be thankful to the Czechs that they did their duty. The Czech Republic won I can't believe it. It was a huge party with all the people here.
We never really grow up we only learn how to act in public.
The bottom line is how do we best provide for the security of the traveling public in light of a determined enemy who is adept at constructing well-designed well-concealed devices which would not show up in a walk-through metal detector? We're trying to employ the best technology to identify any possible threat.
My greatest concern is that the emergence of this technology without the appropriate public attention and international controls could lead to an unstable arms race.
The People's Republic of China has not yet reached the military might of the Soviet Empire. It requires a little more time and a little more infusion of Western aid loans technology and the hard currency of our tourists.
I'm in favor of any technology that makes my work available to the reading public at a reasonable price.
Today we're focused on small acquisitions to add technology where necessary. I think it's fair to say we're not out looking for a large one but I think it's also very fair to say that as a public company you can never say never.
