In the late 1990s some of the worst terrorist atrocities in the world were what the Turkish government itself called state terror namely massive atrocities 80 percent of the arms coming from the United States millions of refugees tens of thousands of people killed hideous repression that's international terror and we can go on and on.

Any government that supports protects or harbours terrorists is complicit in the murder of the innocent and equally guilty of terrorist crimes.

To stop terrorists before the strike we must do three things: deny them entry into the country curtail their freedom of action inside the country and deprive them of material and moral support from within the country.

Not to mention the fact that of course terrorists hate freedom. I think they do hate. But believe me I don't think they sit there abstractly hating freedom.

They call them terrorists I call them freedom fighters.

We are expected to believe that anyone who objects to the Department of Homeland Security or the USA Patriot Act is a terrorist and that the only way to preserve our freedom is to hand it over to the government for safekeeping.

You learn that you either are going to have a police state where you don't have any freedom left or you're going to build a world that doesn't create terrorists - and that means a whole different way of 'getting along.'

Hamas is a terrorist organization dedicated to annihilating the Jewish state. It runs a theocratic totalitarian state in Gaza with no individual liberty and no freedom of speech or press.

If the events of September 11 2001 have proven anything it's that the terrorists can attack us but they can't take away what makes us American - our freedom our liberty our civil rights. No only Attorney General John Ashcroft can do that.

The very idea of freedom incites fear in the hearts of terrorists across the world.

This president has said this has to be a priority for our nation protecting our food supply from terrorist acts so he continues to provide the funding that is necessary.

Every nation has to either be with us or against us. Those who harbor terrorists or who finance them are going to pay a price.

Don't fear the terrorists. They're mothers and fathers.

We will be safer from terrorist attack only when we have earned the respect of all other nations instead of their fear respect for our values and not merely our weapons.

Democracy is stronger than terrorism and we will not cower to the terrorists' campaign of fear.

Terrorism is a psychological warfare. Terrorists try to manipulate us and change our behavior by creating fear uncertainty and division in society.

The terrorists are fighting freedom with all their cunning and cruelty because freedom is their greatest fear - and they should be afraid because freedom is on the march.

There are more people living in Lower Manhattan now than before the terrorist attacks. That's faith for you. There's such a strong spirit here.

What is more comforting to the terrorists around the world: the failure to pass the 9/11 legislation because we lacked 'a majority of the majority ' or putting aside partisan politics to enact tough new legislation with America's security foremost in mind?

Where terrorists offer injustice disorder and destruction the United States and its allies stand for freedom fairness equality hope and opportunity.

Illegal immigration is crisis for our country. It is an open door for drugs criminals and potential terrorists to enter our country. It is straining our economy adding costs to our judicial healthcare and education systems.

Just two weeks ago millions of Iraqis defied the threats of terrorists and went to the polls to determine their own future. I congratulate the Iraqi people for the courage they've shown in making these elections so successful.

We know the threats - from global terrorist networks to the spread of deadly weapons. Yet we also know that embedded in this time of danger is the promise of a new day if we have the courage and commitment to work together.

I told you I'm not going to criticize my successor. I'll just tell you that there are people at Gitmo that will kill American people at a drop of a hat and I don't believe that persuasion isn't going to work. Therapy isn't going to cause terrorists to change their mind.
