When you look at Michael Jackson there's nobody who loves him in that family nobody. If they did they'd tell him he didn't have to do all that in order to be famous. All he has to do is keep doing his music and be himself. Michael's been a little touched for about 20 years but somebody needs to pull him aside and tell him they love him.

Why am I so famous? What am I doing right? What are the others doing wrong?

You can get rich or famous by doing the same thing.

I'm doing a new musical on Broadway which opens in October called 'The Boy from Oz ' where I play Peter Allen. For those of you who don't know he became first famous in America for marrying Liza Minelli.

Some of the most famous books are the least worth reading. Their fame was due to their having done something that needed to be doing in their day. The work is done and the virtue of the book has expired.

Sometimes being famous gets in the way of doing what you want to do.

We need to recognise that what really matters isn't buying more and more consumer goods but family friends and knowing that we are doing something worthwhile with our lives. Helping to reduce the appalling consequences of world poverty should be part of that reassessment.

Doing Saturday Night Live definitely affects my relationship with my girlfriend and with my family because you feel so much pressure to do well that night. But I think everyone's grown to accept that and so they give me my space at the show.

Young actors often don't think of the consequences of doing nudity or sex scenes. They want the role so badly that they agree to be exploited and then end up embarrassing family friends and even strangers.

Think about what people are doing on Facebook today. They're keeping up with their friends and family but they're also building an image and identity for themselves which in a sense is their brand. They're connecting with the audience that they want to connect to. It's almost a disadvantage if you're not on it now.

The civil rights movement was based on faith. Many of us who were participants in this movement saw our involvement as an extension of our faith. We saw ourselves doing the work of the Almighty. Segregation and racial discrimination were not in keeping with our faith so we had to do something.
