I'm gonna be making records anyway even if I had to sell 'em out of the trunk of my car. I'm that kind of musician and singer.
Seems to me that this business for actors anyway is not so much about whether or not you do good work. It's about whether or not you get the chance to do good work.
Like everybody in show business you think you're going to wake up one day and it's all going to be taken away from you. I think we all share an insecurity in that way everybody in show business - the ones I talk to anyway.
As soon as someone tells me: 'You're rather sexy ' I wish I could disappear. If somebody says: 'You were voted the world's sexiest man ' I have no idea what that means. How do I respond? 'Thank you' is the best you can do. George Clooney is the world's sexiest man anyway.
A multitude of bees can tell the time of day calculate the geometry of the sun's position argue about the best location for the next swarm. Bees do a lot of close observing of other bees maybe they know what follows stinging and do it anyway.
Don't let the fear of the time it will take to accomplish something stand in the way of your doing it. The time will pass anyway we might just as well put that passing time to the best possible use.
Of course all of the software I write runs on Linux that's the beauty of standards and of cross-platform code. I don't have to run your OS and you don't have to run mine and we can use the same applications anyway!
What sort of sap doesn't know by now that picture-perfect beauty is all done with smoke and mirrors anyway?
Somehow the greater the public opposition to the health care bill the more determined they seem to force it on us anyway. Their attitude shows Washington at its very worst - the presumption that they know best and they're going to get their way whether the American people like it or not.
That attitude that fighting is probably not fair but you have to defend yourself anyway and damage the enemy has been profoundly consequential as far as my political activism goes.
Anyway I feel myself a bit on the edge on the art world but I don't mind I'm just pursuing my work in a very excited way. And there isn't really a mainstream anymore is there?
A lot of my humor does come from anger. It's like you're not gonna pull one over on me - which is pretty much my motto anyways.
I mean one of the things about being alone is that you've no people to define yourself off I mean people are like all-round mirrors because let's face it we don't often see ourselves all round in a mirror anyway do we.
I don't know why people are so obsessed with age anyway. I mean 90 is the new 70 70 is the new 50 and 50 is the new 40 so the whole act-your-age thing? Only up to a point.
When I was younger my whole sense of self-worth was based on whether or not I was working which was awful. And I had a baby at 20 years old so it wasn't just about me. At around the age of 30 there was a stretch where I wasn't working - certainly not on anything I liked anyway - and I started to do other things.
I love the idea of the teachings of Jesus Christ and the beautiful stories about it which I loved in Sunday school and I collected all the little stickers and put them in my book. But the reality is that organised religion doesn't seem to work. It turns people into hateful lemmings and it's not really compassionate.
