I design some of my own clothes now.
Initially it was the unpractical in fashion that brought me to design my own line. I felt that it was much more attractive to cut clothes with respect for the living three-dimensional body rather than to cover the body with decorative ideas.
I used to design for my body which was flat-chested with big hips. That's why my clothes were tight on top with full skirts.
After working with clothes for so long it seemed right to design them.
I'm not a size 0 and I'm nowhere close to it. But I don't want anyone to know what I am so I like to design clothes so you don't know what's going on under there.
I am a fashion designer. I'm not an environmentalist. When I get up in the morning number one I'm a mother and a wife and number two I design clothes. So the main thing I need to do is create hopefully exquisitely beautiful desirable objects for my customer.
I come from a different era and I design clothes for our era. I think of people I want to dress when I design.
I help design my own tennis clothes.
I'm not really a fashion designer. I just love clothes. I've never been to design school. I can't sketch. I can't cut patterns and things. I can shorten things. I can make a dress out of a scarf.
I really see myself continuing to design clothes fragrances.
A designer is only as good as the star who wears her clothes.
I don't design clothes I design dreams.
I'm much more interested in what an actor has to say about something substantial and important than who they're dating or what clothes they're wearing or some other asinine insignificant aspect of their life.
I want to speak up and tell you that mascara and clothes don't make you cool neither do name-brand handbags but being a leader can.
But it's cool working with female directors because I'm a girl so you do relate to them more. You can talk to them about other stuff like clothes and all that.
My parents were vegetarians. I'd show up at school this giant black kid with none of the cool clothes and a tofu sandwich and celery sticks.
I'm a fan of designers and clothes that look beautiful but more importantly make me feel beautiful and confident. It's why I've always loved Stella McCartney and more recently Prabal Gurung. Their pieces are cool yet timeless and the fits are effortlessly flattering.
I think fashion is a lot of fun. I love clothes. More than fashion or brand labels I love design. I love the thought that people put into clothes. I love when clothes make cultural statements and I think personal style is really cool. I also freely recognize that fashion should be a hobby.
As a kid I did want to be an old-timer since they were the ones with the big stories and the cool clothes. I wanted to go there. Now I guess I want to bring that with me and go back in time.
When I entered high school I was an A-student but not for long. I wanted the fancy clothes. I wanted to hang out with the guys. I went from being an A-student to a B-student to a C-student but I didn't care. I was getting the high fives and the low fives and the pats on the back. I was cool.
A friend of mine has a big farm in the desert and she picks up feathers and roadkill for me then makes it into clothes. I think it's cool to wear roadkill. If I died and somebody wanted to wear my teeth around their neck to VMAs I'd feel honored.
I've always looked the same. Since I was a child I hated having to deal with my hair. I hated having to change my clothes. As a kid I had a sailor shirt and the same old corduroy pants and that's what I wanted to wear everyday.
There has been a change in men's attitudes toward their clothes. Men are more aware of fashion they're not afraid of it.
I think clothes should make you feel safe. I like clothes you want to go to sleep in. I sometimes stand in front of a mirror and change a million times because I know I really want to wear my nightgown.
Looking at affordable health care I think it is important that we look not only at prescription drugs but also make sure that there is a major focus on health care.
