'Hello my name is the Republican Party and I got a problem. I'm addicted to spending and big government.' I'd like one of them just to stand up and say that.

And I can tell you that history will back up what I'm about to say and that is that there is no government run by conservatives Republicans put whoever you want there if you give government the opportunity to spend more money than it has it will do it. It will do it every time.

I cannot consent that my mortal body shall be laid in a repository prepared for an Emperor or a King my republican feelings and principles forbid it the simplicity of our system of government forbids it.

Republicans and Democrats have used accounting gimmicks and competing government analyses to deceive the public into believing that 2 + 2 = 6. If our leaders cannot agree on the numbers if 'facts' are fictional how can they possibly have a substantive debate on solutions?

I don't look for much to come out of government ownership as long as we have Democrats and Republicans.

In our civilization and under our republican form of government intelligence is so highly honored that it is rewarded by exemption from the cares of office.

Just think of what Woodrow Wilson stood for: he stood for world government. He wanted an early United Nations League of Nations. But it was the conservatives Republicans that stood up against him.

The Democrats are the party that says government will make you smarter taller richer and remove the crabgrass on your lawn. The Republicans are the party that says government doesn't work and then they get elected and prove it.

Over grown military establishments are under any form of government inauspicious to liberty and are to be regarded as particularly hostile to republican liberty.

The republican is the only form of government which is not eternally at open or secret war with the rights of mankind.

There are three species of government: republican monarchical and despotic.

You have to have been a Republican to know how good it is to be a Democrat.

I think it's very clear that the American people are frustrated with this move toward socialism. And so whether you're back or white if you believe that the conservative construct is in the best interest of our future than you too would be voting with Republicans and if you had the opportunity to run you'd join us as well.

The Republican argument that raising the debt ceiling encourages additional future spending is logically irresponsible. The debt ceiling has to be raised to authorize spending already approved by Congress. Despite that fallacy the GOP has been able to score political points with its argument.

Here is what we know after more than a decade of Republican rule: Texas works. Even 'The New York Times' let it slip into its pages that 'Texas is the future.'

Republicans are men of narrow vision who are afraid of the future.

Let us not seek the Republican answer or the Democratic answer but the right answer. Let us not seek to fix the blame for the past. Let us accept our own responsibility for the future.

All people are born alike - except Republicans and Democrats.

Look I worked with American Republican presidents and Democratic presidents all of them and each of them has shown a deep and profound friendship to Israel you know? I can't remember anybody who was in that sense negative as far as Israel is concerned.

I have long enjoyed the friendship and companionship of Republicans because I am by instinct a teacher and I would like to teach them something.
