Favored Nations is a long-term commitment. Our hope is that those who are passionate about real musicianship will want to hear and own most of our albums. We will set out to attain the same direct relationship with our customers that we have with our artists.

I've been obsessed with seeing life through music. My records my relationship with records my relationship with rock stars everything that surrounds it has been really one of the only ways that I ever started to understand the world.

Royalties are not how most writers or musicians make their living. Musicians by and large make a living with a relationship with an audience that is economically harnessed through performance and ticket sales.

When I was confronted with official tuition the academic thing I could see no relationship whatever between that and the music I'd been writing since I was 11.

But in Japanese there's actually not much of a relationship between the music and the words.

I record all of my music with authentic instruments in a studio before we start editing doing many many versions. The music shapes the film as we edit so it has an organic relationship to the content.

Hopefully each film can be given a musical voice of its own which is not to say that the instrumentation is always unique but that the relationship between the sound and the image is unique.

Most people have a passive relationship with music and clothes with culture. But music was my first contact with anything creative. Music is it as far as I'm concerned.

Ah the bond between English boys and California girls. For those of us who aren't either it's a bond that fascinates and mystifies. So much of the world's favorite music comes out of that relationship.

Film music should have the same relationship to the film drama that somebody's piano playing in my living room has on the book I am reading.

The places I visit in any given week are my home so when I'm somewhere that feels good to me it's a real game changer. If a place causes me to have a strong reaction be it positive or negative it'll often find its way into my music.

My whole thing is just to put out positive messages in the music give people something that can change their lives.

Music is pretty much the lifestyle not the music itself. The lifestyle really pulled me off the street. Made me want to do something organized and positive.

I would love to hear all types of Christian artists played all over the world. I'd love to hear good positive mainstream music played all over the place. I'd love to be able to bring music together. But I have not deserted Christ. I have not deserted my faith.

Music and songs are written at different periods of time at different times in your life. They reflect the feelings you have and to be honest I quite like having positive emotions.

I know some people will be surprised to hear it but I've found that my music whether its blues or rock or whatever you want to call it can be channeled into a positive direction that actually helps people.

We asserted ourselves as a music community and showed legislators that music is positive. Especially if you've sold 300 million records worldwide and pay taxes.

And of course pop music is all about memorability and simplicity and positive messages and a little dash of joy.

But I would be naive not to recognize the number of musicians who tell me they have been influenced by me and sight me - as well as Alex and Neil - as a musician who has been a positive influence on their playing.

To have the chance to see your music be elevated and to have almost universally positive response to that music makes me feel better every day. I feel more confident and inspired and that's fun.

To have someone to relate to and hopefully enjoy the music and get a positive message out of it to make the best music that we possibly could those were the goals.

I don't find music being less important than like politics.

I'm not really one of those people who believes that if you're a musician you can just leave that behind and start getting into politics.

Music shouldn't be based around money or politics. Music should be a bunch of people that really do great songs together doing them together for the pursuit of having a good time.
