Taxpayers deserve a government that harnesses technology to better serve the people.

In reality Republicans have long been at war with clean energy. They have ridiculed investments in solar and wind power bashed energy-efficiency standards attacked state moves to promote renewable energy and championed laws that would enshrine taxpayer subsidies for fossil fuels while stripping them from wind and solar.

The government needs to help those in need but members of Congress shouldn't take advantage of the situation and use a national tragedy as an opportunity to spend taxpayer dollars on their pet projects.

The GAO just released a report that said 22 percent of federal programs fail to meet their objectives. The truth is we don't know how taxpayer money is spent in Washington D.C. which is why I think we ought to put every agency budget up on the Internet for everyone to see.

Obamacare is a seriously flawed law that makes health care coverage less affordable costs taxpayers more than advertised and fails to deliver on most of its other grand promises.

Make no mistake a 'yes' vote on the Democrats' health care bill is a vote for taxpayer-funded abortions.

They said it was impossible to touch the third rail of politics to take on public-sector unions and to reform a pension and health benefits system that was headed to bankruptcy. But with bipartisan leadership we saved taxpayers $132 billion dollars over 30 years and saved retirees their pensions. We did it.

We are the ones looking out for the middle class. Who do think pays for the endless expansion of government? Its middle class taxpayers. Our reforms protect middle class taxpayers.

I promised to empower the taxpayer - instead of a handful of big government union bosses.

We don't need new taxes. We need new taxpayers people that are gainfully employed making money and paying into the tax system. And then we need a government that has the discipline to take that additional revenue and use it to pay down the debt and never grow it again.

I do not understand how it is that financial institutions could think that they could take taxpayer money and then turn around and act like it's business as usual.
